The University of Ibadan (UI), Nigeria’s premier university and one of the nation’s most prestigious citadels of learning, has issued a very crucial notice to all candidates preparing for the 2025/2026 Post-UTME screening exercise. This announcement serves as a reminder of important guidelines, requirements, and exam-day rules every candidate must strictly follow.
As the highly anticipated screening approaches, thousands of aspiring students across Nigeria are set to compete for limited admission slots into UI’s world-class programmes. To ensure smooth conduct of the examination, the university management has provided a series of instructions designed to maintain order, fairness, and security.
📅 Official Screening Dates
The Post-UTME screening exercise has been scheduled to hold from:
- Monday, 25th August 2025
- Wednesday, 27th August 2025
These three days will mark a defining moment for many students who dream of beginning their academic journey at UI. Candidates are therefore strongly advised to take note of their specific exam dates, times, and venues, which can be found on their personalized screening photocard.
🎟️ Photocard Printing – A Must!
The University emphasized that no candidate will be allowed into the examination hall without their screening photocard. This vital document contains essential details such as:
- Candidate’s name and JAMB registration number
- Exact exam date, time, and venue
- Candidate’s photograph for identity verification
To access this photocard, candidates must:
- Log in to the UI Admissions Portal at admissions.ui.edu.ng
- Enter their JAMB Registration Number and portal password
- Download and print the photocard ahead of the exam date
Students are advised to print multiple copies (at least two or three) to avoid last-minute panic in case one gets misplaced.
🚫 Strict Exam-Day Rules
The University of Ibadan has made it very clear that certain items are strictly prohibited within the examination centres. Candidates must not come in with:
- Mobile phones
- Wristwatches
- Electronic devices of any kind
- Bags, purses, or backpacks
- Pens or biros
👉 The only items allowed into the exam hall are the UI photocard and possibly HB pencils (as will be clearly stated on the photocard).
This decision was reached to curb examination malpractice and ensure a fair process for all candidates. Anyone caught violating these rules risks being disqualified immediately.

Before even getting to the screening stage, candidates must have successfully completed their registration by paying:
- ₦3,000 portal access fee
